BIO

Alexis is a certified group fitness instructor who comes from a heavy dance background, specifically ballet. Her strong foundation in ballet has given her a concrete understanding about movement and the body. After many years of studying dance, Alexis got involved in her dance studio and began teaching classes of her own. From an early age, Alexis learned how to conduct and effectively run a classroom while keeping a close eye on her students. Alexis enjoys watching her students grow and helping them improve each week.

Alexis has been teaching Kickboxing and Pilates at Miami University since 2012 after completing a rigorous training program for a year. Alexis was also sought out to teach other private and large group events at the university based on her expertise. This equipped her with the ability to lead fitness classes for any age and size. Since moving to Chicago in the summer of 2014, Alexis has designed and implemented a Kickboxing program for Chicago Fit Performance and has joined forces with Founder and Owner Kosta Shilev to grow the Metabolic program.

Alexis brings energy and authenticity to every session she leads to keep her clients motivated and having fun. Alexis’ classes will leave you feeling empowered, toned, focused and refreshed!

Alexis finds pilates to be an excellent compliment to any cardio done during the week or a great way to realign your body after a rough day. Alexis focuses on breathing, flexibility and toning exercises that lengthen while strengthening muscles through the practice of pilates.

Kickboxing has been a fun class for Alexis to teach! This high energy class gives Alexis the opportunity to motivate and push her students to the next level. Alexis runs her kickboxing classes as a hybrid of turbo kick and boxing. The first part of class starts off in a basic warm-up, she then moves to a turbo kick section where she has choreographed combinations of kicks and punches. She ends class in a circuit based rotation. The end of class gives students the opportunity to practice what they learned at the beginning of class and apply it to the bags. Alexis believes this class layout gives her students a sense of empowerment and strength.
